I own several of the larger G Drive units for storage of my large work files and they are fantastic. I bought this smaller unit for home use and I like that it has both FW800 and USB2 ports. Looks great next to my Macbook pro and stand.

I love this external hard drive! It holds everything! I do photography and video and this holds all my photos and videos. It is perfect for me because I work on a Macbook Pro, so this allows me not to overload my laptop and at the same time archive all my work instead of deleting them to create more space. Plus I'm always on the go so this hard drive is extremely lightweight to carry around. I can work on my stuff any where at any time. The bonus of all this is that the sleek design matches my laptop. I recommend this for anyone that works on photos and videos on the side.

I've purchased G-Tech drives in the past and absolutely love them. They are built tough and hold up well after several years of use. These drives are very slim considering the amount of data they hold. The aluminum enclosure protects and looks pretty nice, although I didn't buy it because it looked pretty. They can take a few dings and scratches (luckily, I haven't dropped it yet) and still do their job well. A firewire port would be nice, but I don't think these drives are meant to do much more than backup files. Definitely a great purchase that I'll be making again and again as I fill up my desktop drive!
